Sustainable value chains in agriculture ASAL Kenya
Farming the Future project responded to key challenges identified among the agro-pastoral groups of Laikipia North Sub County, in the Arid and Semi Arid Lands (ASAL) of Northern Kenya.
This are like limited access to water, poor agronomic skills and lack of sustainability on businesses related to sustainable value chains.
The main activities included; capacity building, provision of water, supply of agronomic equipment’s, exploring sustainable value chains in the dry lands, and strengthening tourism activities among the communities.
All this actions are geared on environmentally friendly methods and principles to have a positive impact in mitigating desertification and encourage the protection of local natural resources.
